If this is the first time you are colouring your hair, we recommend you read our extensive Hair Dye FAQ.

Step 1: BLEACH IT
Before using Attitude Hair Dye, we recommend bleaching your hair. This opens your hair cuticles and takes out your pigment, so your dye can enter the cortex of your hair and stay longer. Attitude Ghosted is the perfect way to prepare your hair before dyeing! Use the Ghosted Bleach Kit in Volume 20, 30 or 40, and watch your natural shade fade away like a spectre into the night! The lighter your hair, the more accurate your new colour will be. After 15-30 minutes, wash the bleach out with a ph-neutral shampoo, then towel-dry your hair.
Step 2: DYE IT
Now that you have a blank canvas, you’re ready for Attitude Hair Dye! Apply vaseline around your hairline to prevent staining, then apply the colour of your choice, using gloves and a hair dye brush. Wear an old shirt, as the dye may stain your clothing. Allow to absorb for a minimum of 15-30 minutes before rinsing out thoroughly with cold/lukewarm water until the water runs clear. For ultimate absorption, we recommend not washing your hair for two days after dyeing.
Step 3: CARE FOR IT
Your colour will fade with each wash, and that’s where our Holyplex Hair Care line comes in! Holyplex is specifically developed for hair that’s been dyed in bright colours. Consisting of a plant-based shampoo, conditioning mask and finishing spray, Holyplex repairs and nourishes your hair after bleaching and dyeing. We always recommend using Holyplex with Attitude Hair Dye to make sure your coloured hair stays bright and silky smooth.

I've always been scared to use black hairdye since i love pastel colors. But this one fades to a blue/green color and it's pretty easy to get out of your hair, which is nice. But if you really want black hair you might have to retouch it often.

Okay so it has a green undertone, which makes my hair just overall a dark green color in certain lighting (especially out in the sun). This I don't mind, I actually quite like it. But I did want to write it in a review so others will know about it beforehand and not be surprised. Also I am a natural dark blondie and I have bleached hair. I wanted to stop bleaching my hair, so I did not bleach my roots. I never want to bleach again, and it did say that it would still turn out as black. But it didn't really get my roots, which is a shame. But maybe that's just user error.

Hey! You're right, Daring does have a green undertone, which can be more visible depending on the base and the lighting as you said, especially after a few washes. Bleaching allows the dye to penetrate the hair (not only lightening), which might be why it didn't show up as well on your roots. You can find more info about this on our blog. Never had any issues with it. I make sure to take care of my hair accordingly, no hot washes etc. the colour fades very blue/green/purple depending on the colour you have underneath the dye. Personally had a good experience with the dye

Followed directions (in addition to having experience with similar dyes), bleached my hair, then applied the dye... Immediately after rinsing, it's a pale army green, no black at all. It might turn out a greenish black if you apply it on natural black hair without bleaching, but on bleached hair it's just straight up green. And not a dark or vibrant green either.

mooie zwart met een paarse ondertoon, maar de consistentie is veel te dik om goed uit te smeren, alsof de pigmenten niet fijn genoeg zijn gemalen. Daarnaast wast hij ook extreem snel uit. Ik heb de groen/zwart set gekocht en de groen is prima, dus erg teleurstellend. Ik raadt deze specifieke kleur niet aan.

Het zwart was al heel snel weg. Na 2 a 3 keer wassen was het een paarse kleur. Heel jammer...

Ik heb mijn haar al een lange tijd altijd zwart geverfd, nu had ik mijn haar gemillimeterd en wou ik een keer zwarte semi permanente verf proberen. Helaas was het resultaat niet waar ik op gehoopt had. Het geeft een grijzige/zwarte waas, sommige stukken waren paars. Het was een doffe kleur, erg jammer.

Ik heb mijn haar gebleekt vooraf en heb het al vaak geverfd (ook zwart van manic panic) nooit problemen gehad. Deze verf maakte mijn haar groen ipv zwart

Wat een vreselijk slechte verf. Mijn haar is nu groen en bruin (ik heb het vooraf gebleekt). Gelukkig wast deze kleur vlot uit... Jammer!

Wil je zwarte verf? Dan moet je deze niet kopen. Het was al niet zwart toen ik de verf er uit waste, maar zeker niet na een keer douchen. Meer een donker blauw. Niet lelijk, maar niet waar ik voor betaald heb. ;-;

Het is geen diep zwart maar wat zachter. Ik heb het gebruikt op donkerbruin haar en ben zeer blij met het resultaat ookal is het anders dan ik had verwacht! Het ziet er wat natuurlijker uit dan andere zwarte verf en zal deze zeker opnieuw bestellen.

It is not totally black, more a grey/black/blond kind of colour. I still like it, nevertheless it is not the colour I was expecting. this maybe because I didn't bleach it, but I have still pretty blond hair on my own.

is een Zwart maar met paarse(koude)ondertoon. Hou hier rekening mee dat bij uitwassen of vervagen de paarse/ blauwe ondertoon naar boven kan komen. Ik heb het gebruikt als root kleur naar rood uitgaande ombre (rage + rebel) , prachtig resultaat , houd lang indien je je haar niet met te warm water wast.

Wird beim auswaschen schimmelgrün/blau . Hatte es auch zum mischen benutzt, aus Lavendel wurde beim auswaschen

Het is een mooie kleur, maar geen zwart. Het is een donker paarse kleur. Dus houd daar rekening mee.

Wow, endlich ein richtig schönes Direktzieher Pechschwarz. Hatte es bisher nur auf einer blondierten Teststrähne drauf und da war es wirklich richtig schön schwarz. Kann damit wunderbar andere Farben verdunkeln. Aber pur ist immer noch das Beste. Weiß allerdings noch nicht wie es sich so rauswäscht, das teste ich dann mal auf meinem eigenen Haar. Die Haare fühlen sich nach dem Tönen auch immer noch super an, also nichts was die Haare klitschig bzw. krausig, trocken macht wie ich das schon bei einem anderen Direktzieher Schwarz erlebte. Absoluter Schwarz Favorit, super cool! Werde ich wieder bestellen und sicher noch weitere Farben testen!
